Get Started

Ready to start your project?

We understand you work hard for what you've earned, and we respect you and your project. Every project we receive gets the utmost care we can provide, and it will be treated with respect. Here's exactly how the process works, start to finish.

The Process

Six steps from first look to your project back in your hands.

01

Pick your look

Start with Instagram and Facebook, where we post current work. Then check the pricing page for costs and current lead times. Once you know what you want, get in touch so we can start tracking your project.

02

Fill out the order form

Download the order form, fill it out, print it, and put it in the box with your project. List every item, whether it's serialized, and the exact color, theme or camo you want.

Check your information, then check it again. Incomplete or incorrect details are the number one cause of delays, and we can't start work on a project we can't confirm.

03

Pack and ship

Package your project securely. That means more than a single piece of tape. We strongly recommend adding insurance.

Keep it discreet

Your box should not indicate that there are firearms or firearm parts inside. No manufacturer markings, no branded tape, nothing on the label that advertises the contents. Plain as possible.

Full shipping requirements, including what changes for serialized parts, are in the shipping section below.

04

We confirm we have it

We'll email you within 2–3 business days of delivery to confirm your parts arrived and are logged in. You don't need to message us the day tracking says delivered. We're in the booth, not at the mailbox, and the confirmation email is coming.

05

Approval and payment

Once your project is complete we'll send photos so you can confirm it's what you ordered. For repeat work where the result is already well established, we may skip the photo step.

An invoice goes to the email address on your order form and can be paid online.

06

Back to you

We pack your project with the same care we put into the finish. Tracking will come with your invoice or in a follow-up email once it ships.

Customers are responsible for tracking their own packages. A delay does not mean a package is lost. Per the Uniform Commercial Code, DK Custom Coatings, LLC is not responsible for physical shipping or delivery once a package has been turned over to the courier.

Shipping Requirements

What you need to do depends on whether your project includes a serialized part. Read the side that applies to you.

Serialized Parts

At this time UPS is the only courier that permits the shipment of firearms and serialized parts.

It is the customer's responsibility to understand and follow the correct procedure for shipping their firearm.

Serialized parts are shipped back with signature required.

Non-Serialized Parts

Slides, grip modules, handguards, optics, stocks, base plates and similar parts require no special handling.

Ship them with any courier you like. Pack them well and insure them for what they're worth to you.

Required for Serialized Parts: Photo ID

A photocopy of your state-issued driver's license must be included in the package with your order form. Serialized projects will not be processed until we have it.

Send a paper copy in the box. Don't email a photo of your license and don't text it to us.

Your responsibility

It is your responsibility to comply with all federal and state firearm laws and with shipping company policies. We comply with those same rules and regulations on our end.

Before you ship, confirm

  • Order form filled out, printed, and in the box
  • Photocopy of your driver's license in the box, if any part is serialized
  • Parts cleaned — excessively dirty parts add a $60 charge
  • Parts broken down as far as you're able — assembled parts add labor
  • Packaging is plain, secure, and insured

See The Work

The fastest way to decide on a color, pattern or theme is to look at what's already come out of the booth. We post projects to Instagram and Facebook as we finish them.
